Description
Mitutoyo TM-Series eyepieces (10×, 15×, 20×) swap into Toolmaker’s Microscopes to set viewing comfort and image scale—total magnification = objective × eyepiece, while working distance is set by the objective. 10× gives the widest field and easiest alignment, 15× is the everyday balance of field and detail, and 20× adds extra image scale for tiny features at the cost of a smaller field and tighter eye relief. Choose the lowest power that still shows edges cleanly for general inspection, and step up to 15×/20× for fine radii, burr checks, thread/pitch reads, and other tight-tolerance work.
| Product | What it does |
|---|---|
| 176-115 — 10× Eyepiece (TM Series) | Baseline viewing with the widest field and comfortable eye relief. Easiest for quick alignment and for working at lower objective powers when you want more of the part in view.
|
| 176-116 — 15× Eyepiece Set (TM Series) | Balanced choice between detail and field of view. Popular “everyday” power for tighter tolerances and cleaner edge reads. Supplied as a set where paired eyepieces are required (binocular configurations); check your head type.
|
| 176-117 — 20× Eyepiece (TM Series) | Higher eyepiece power for very small features when more image scale helps. Expect a smaller field of view and tighter eye relief; use steady support and even lighting for best results.
|
Notes: Total magnification = objective power × eyepiece power. Choosing a higher eyepiece increases image scale but
typically reduces field of view and eye relief. Working distance is set by the objective, not the eyepiece. Pick the
eyepiece that balances detail vs. field for your parts and operators.
