Terms and Purchasing Notes

Macroscopic Solutions sells digital software licenses, licensed image downloads, configured scientific imaging systems, optics, cameras, measurement hardware, services, training, and quote-reviewed procurement items. Some products can be purchased directly online. Configured systems, institutional purchases, freight-sensitive hardware, Mitutoyo systems, and custom service work may require quote review before invoicing, shipment, or fulfillment.

Agisoft educational license eligibility

Agisoft Educational Edition licenses are discounted academic licenses reserved for qualified educational end users, including eligible students, faculty, classrooms, universities, museums, and academic research programs. Educational orders require verification before license delivery. A qualifying educational institution, the end user’s academic role, and the end user’s institutional or academic email address must be provided at checkout before the license can be issued.

Commercial companies, government contractors purchasing for non-academic use, private laboratories, resellers, and other non-academic end users should purchase the appropriate non-academic Agisoft license. If an educational license is purchased for an ineligible end user, Macroscopic Solutions may cancel the order or request that the customer purchase the correct commercial license before fulfillment.

Wrong-license purchases, cancellations, and refunds

If a customer accidentally purchases an Agisoft Educational Edition license but needs a commercial license, Macroscopic Solutions may apply the full educational-license payment toward the correct commercial license when the correct order is placed. This allows genuine ordering mistakes to be corrected without penalizing the customer for upgrading to the appropriate license.

If the customer chooses to cancel instead of purchasing the correct license, the refund may be reduced to account for non-refundable payment processing costs, administrative review, and order-handling time. For ineligible educational-license orders, Macroscopic Solutions may issue a partial refund of up to 75% when no replacement commercial license order is placed.

Software licenses are not issued until eligibility, payment, and order details are confirmed. Once a software license, registration code, serial number, or other digital entitlement has been issued, the order may be non-returnable or non-refundable unless the publisher authorizes otherwise.

Physical products, restocking, and freight

Physical hardware, optical equipment, cameras, Mitutoyo products, configured Macropod systems, drill core systems, granite tables, stands, and other freight-sensitive products may require quote review before shipment. Shipping, freight, insurance, customs, duties, brokerage fees, and delivery appointments are handled according to the final quote, invoice, and carrier requirements.

Eligible physical products may be returned within 10 calendar days of delivery, provided the customer requests written return authorization within that period. After the authorized item is received and inspected, Macroscopic Solutions will issue the applicable refund to the original payment method, less non-refundable transaction and payment-processing fees. The customer is responsible for return shipping unless Macroscopic Solutions caused the error. Issued software licenses and digital entitlements, downloaded image files, opened or used goods, installed or configured equipment, special-order, drop-shipped, custom-built, and quote-specific products remain subject to the exclusions and restrictions below.

Returns of physical products require written authorization before anything is shipped back. Opened, used, installed, configured, special-order, drop-shipped, or custom-built products may be subject to manufacturer restrictions, inspection, repackaging charges, missing-accessory charges, and restocking fees. Original shipping, return shipping, freight, insurance, transaction fees, and payment processing fees are generally not refundable unless Macroscopic Solutions determines that an error was made by Macroscopic Solutions.

Quote-reviewed orders

For configured systems and quote-reviewed products, Macroscopic Solutions will confirm part numbers, compatibility, availability, delivery requirements, institutional purchasing needs, and support expectations before issuing a final quote or invoice. A quote request is not a purchase order and does not reserve inventory until the quoted order is accepted and paid according to the quote terms.
