- What will the lab image most often?
- Macropod PRO 3D is the flexible starting platform for work from roughly 4 µm detail through specimens about 4 cm—and larger when the setup requires it. The Micro Kit extends objective-based work at higher magnification.
- Will the lab image linear core, prepared slides, broad trays, or general specimens?
- CoreScan and MicroCoreScan are built for long linear core. Macropod Petrographic is built for transmitted and polarized thin-section and slide imaging. Macropod and Micro Kit can also image slides for reflected-light macro or micro work, while MacroBox supports broad trays, drawers, and large subjects.
- What result must the system produce repeatedly?
- Focus-stacked image sets, stitched core records, transmitted or cross-polarized slide images, 3D models, and dimensional measurements each require a different combination of motion, lighting, optics, and software.
- What information helps us configure the right system?
- We begin with the samples, required images or models, anticipated workload, available space, and equipment already in the lab. Those details determine the appropriate Macropod configuration, optics, lighting, software, and training support; there is no one fixed checklist for every lab.
