| Option | Best for | What you receive | How it differs |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic 3D model $395.00 | A relatively simple object that needs a clean model for general visualization, teaching, or web viewing. | One textured 3D model in an agreed standard format with baseline processing and cleanup. | This is the least complex modeling option, intended for visualization rather than advanced scientific documentation. |
| Enhanced 3D model $595.00 | A more complex specimen or an object whose model needs stronger visual refinement for presentation or exhibit use. | A refined textured model with additional geometry, texture cleanup, and agreed export preparation. | It includes more processing and presentation refinement than the Basic model. |
| Scientific 3D model package $995.00 | Research, archival, comparative, or measurement-oriented projects where scale and process documentation matter. | A high-detail model with project-scoped scaling, capture and processing documentation, quality review, and agreed scientific exports. Important: Measurement tolerances, coordinate system, file formats, and required metadata are confirmed in the project scope. | This tier places the strongest emphasis on scale, documentation, and scientific-use requirements. |
Prices cover the listed baseline service. Sample preparation, extra views, special handling, custom formats, metadata, rush work, and shipping are confirmed before work begins.
Scientific photogrammetry and 3D model production
Macroscopic Solutions produces textured 3D models from controlled photographic image sets for researchers, museums, educators, exhibit teams, and technical documentation projects.
3D modeling uses
- Specimens, fossils, bones, artifacts, geoscience samples, teaching material, and exhibit objects.
- Web-viewable 3D assets, archive files, measurement references, and presentation media.
- Capture planning, image acquisition, alignment, masking, texture output, and model delivery.
Each project is scoped around object size, surface complexity, scale requirements, intended viewer, and whether still images, video, or interactive model files are needed.
3D photogrammetry example
Dolphin vertebrae 3D model
This approximately 20 cm wide dolphin vertebrae model shows the kind of large-subject 3D result produced after a carefully captured image set is aligned, reconstructed, textured, and exported from Agisoft Metashape.
Use the viewer to rotate, zoom, and inspect the actual 3D model reconstructed from the image set.
From controlled images to an interactive model
- Capture a consistent, overlapping image set with the configured Macropod PRO 3D, Canon R5, and controlled lighting.
- Focus-stack individual viewpoints when the subject has more depth than one exposure can hold.
- In Agisoft Metashape, align images, build depth-based geometry, inspect the model, create texture, scale it, and export the required files.
Macropod PRO 3D supplies controlled specimen capture; the Micro Kit extends fine-detail work with current Mitutoyo objectives. Agisoft Metashape turns the image set into the reconstruction.
