Description
Mitutoyo MF Series measuring microscopes combine a precision XY stage, optical observation, and linear-encoder measurement for inspection, research microscopy, material analysis, and life-science sample work. The catalog uses the machine letter and stage suffix to describe the actual configuration, so buyers can determine the capability before selecting a model.
What the MF machine type means
| Type A | Bright-field (BF) optics; X and Y measurement axes; manual stage operation. Available with 1010, 2010, 2017, 3017, and 4020 stages. |
|---|---|
| Type B | Bright-field (BF) optics; X, Y, and Z measurement axes; manual stage operation. Available with 1010, 2010, 2017, 3017, and 4020 stages. |
| Type J | Bright-field (BF) optics; X, Y, and Z measurement axes; motorized Z operation only. Available with 2017, 3017, and 4020 stages. |
Read the stage suffix before selecting a model
| 1010 | 4 x 4 in / 100 x 100 mm XY stage travel. |
|---|---|
| 2010 | 8 x 4 in / 200 x 100 mm XY stage travel. |
| 2017 | 8 x 7 in / 200 x 170 mm XY stage travel. |
| 3017 | 12 x 7 in / 300 x 170 mm XY stage travel. |
| 4020 | 16 x 8 in / 400 x 200 mm XY stage travel. |
For example, MF-B2017D identifies a Type B, bright-field microscope with X, Y, and Z measurement and a 200 x 170 mm stage. Across the MF family, the microscope uses linear encoders and provides 0.001, 0.0005, or 0.0001 mm resolution settings. Select an illumination unit and an eyetube with the body: LED 176-445A or halogen 176-447A, plus monocular 176-392 or binocular 176-393 viewing.
