These redesigned Macroscopic Solutions diffusers provide controlled reflected-light illumination for standard Mitutoyo M Plan Apo objectives. Each size is sold individually for $49. Select your objective fit from the dropdown before adding to cart.

More clearance. Improved reflected illumination.
The revised profile provides improved working clearance around the specimen and improved Lieberkühn-style reflection compared with the previous diffuser design. Its reflective surface redirects illumination toward the specimen, helping you manage lighting close to the objective during macro and microscope imaging.
The clearance improvement concerns the diffuser’s physical profile; the objective’s specified optical working distance remains unchanged.
A snug, straight-down fit
- Choose the diffuser matched to your objective.
- Align the diffuser squarely with the objective.
- Press straight down with even, controlled pressure until the diffuser is seated. The fit is intentionally snug.
Support the objective while installing and keep pressure away from its optical surfaces. Check specimen clearance before positioning or focusing.
