Macropod Petrographic R5 Petrographic Microscope System

$23,692.98

High-resolution Macropod petrographic microscope system for geological thin sections, transmitted light, plain light, cross-polarized light, and publication-quality geoscience imaging. Includes the 2x and 5x Mitutoyo objective path; Micro Kit systems add the expanded objective set.

Request Quote

Macropod Petrographic systems show planning prices online, but ordering starts with a quote request so the camera body, 2x/5x or Micro Kit objective selection, transmitted-light stage, polarized-light analyzer setup, geoscience application, training, and institutional purchasing requirements can be confirmed before invoicing.

Stable granite and stand options are available with system quotes

Macroscopic Solutions sells Mitutoyo granite tables, black granite surface plates, steel stands, granite accessories, and comparator-style supports for flat reference support, planar inspection, stable high-magnification imaging benches, and vibration-control planning.

These options are matched by surface size, flatness or accuracy grade, stand quality, load capacity, accessory needs, freight, installation, and the level of stability required for the sample or measurement workflow.

Description

Macropod Petrographic R5 Petrographic Microscope System. This is a petrographic microscope system for geoscientists, mineralogists, educators, and labs working with thin sections. It may not look like a conventional petrographic microscope in the product photo because the Macropod approach separates the camera, microscope objective, transmitted-light stage, polarizing/analyzer path, and stacking workflow into a more rigid, image-first architecture.

Why It Matters for Petrography

Conventional petrographic microscopes are built for direct visual observation first. Macropod Petrographic is built for high-resolution digital capture first: stable alignment, long-working-distance microscope objectives, controlled transmitted and polarized light, focus stacking, and stitched image records that can be reviewed, measured, taught from, and archived.

Best Fit

Petrographic microscope workflow

Designed for geological thin sections, mineral identification support, transmitted light, plain light, cross-polarized light, and petrography teaching collections.

Higher-quality image capture

The rigid Macropod optical path, microscope objectives, controlled illumination, and stacking workflow are intended to produce substantially cleaner digital results than ordinary eyepiece or microscope-camera capture.

R5 camera package

Canon EOS R5 body for higher resolution, more cropping headroom, and stronger archival thin-section image records.

Standard objective path

This standard Petrographic configuration includes the 2x and 5x Mitutoyo objective workflow. Choose a Micro Kit configuration when the full 7.5x, 10x, 20x, 50x, and 100x objective path is required.
