MacroBox Scanner systems show planning prices online, but ordering starts with a quote request so rail length, camera package, lighting, sample format, no-touch handling requirements, freight, installation, and institutional purchasing requirements can be confirmed before invoicing.

Stable granite and stand options are available with system quotes

Macroscopic Solutions sells Mitutoyo granite tables, black granite surface plates, steel stands, granite accessories, and comparator-style supports for flat reference support, planar inspection, stable high-magnification imaging benches, and vibration-control planning.

These options are matched by surface size, flatness or accuracy grade, stand quality, load capacity, accessory needs, freight, installation, and the level of stability required for the sample or measurement workflow.

Description

MacroBox Scanner 2.5 Meter 3-Axis Rig Only. MacroBox Scanner is a large-format, down-facing, no-touch imaging and focus-stacking array for objects that should not be pressed against glass, fed through rollers, or forced into a flatbed scanner workflow. It is built for whole insect drawers, butterfly trays, museum collection drawers, soil monoliths, seed trays, chip trays, slabs, paintings, cultural heritage objects, agricultural samples, and other broad materials where surface detail, color, scale, and repeatability matter.

Why MacroBox Instead of a Scanner?

No-touch whole-drawer capture

The sample stays in place. There is no scanner lid pressure, glass contact, roller path, or handling step that can damage pinned insects, fragile soil, seed, art, paper, or heritage materials.

Focus stacking for real surfaces

Flatbed scanners assume the object is flat. MacroBox can focus stack uneven seed trays, textured paintings, mineral slabs, thick labels, soil relief, and tray contents with meaningful depth.

Controlled light and color

The camera and lighting workflow can be tuned for glare control, shadows, color targets, scale bars, and repeatable archival documentation rather than consumer-office scanning.

Large-area stitched output

Automated rail movement supports wide fields up to the selected rail length so long trays, large panels, monoliths, and slabs can be captured at high detail.

Best Fit Applications

  • Whole insect drawers, butterfly drawers, pinned specimen boxes, teaching drawers, and museum collection trays
  • Soil monoliths, soil blocks, sediment slabs, and agricultural research samples
  • Seed trays, germination trays, plant pathology trays, crop-science trays, and greenhouse studies
  • Chip trays, ore samples, mineral slabs, stone slabs, concrete cores, and cut material surfaces
  • Paintings, works on paper, textiles, maps, labels, framed objects, and fragile cultural heritage items
  • Large fossils, casts, archaeological surfaces, forensic panels, industrial inspection samples, and conservation records
  • Any large, flat-to-uneven object where non-contact imaging, focus stacking, controlled lighting, and scale-aware output outperform ordinary scanning
