Request Quote

CoreScan systems show planning prices online, but ordering starts with a quote request so rail length, two-axis or three-axis automation, camera package, rig-only needs, two-box shipping, freight, delivery, and institutional purchasing requirements can be confirmed before invoicing.

Stable granite and stand options are available with system quotes

Macroscopic Solutions sells Mitutoyo granite tables, black granite surface plates, steel stands, granite accessories, and comparator-style supports for flat reference support, planar inspection, stable high-magnification imaging benches, and vibration-control planning.

These options are matched by surface size, flatness or accuracy grade, stand quality, load capacity, accessory needs, freight, installation, and the level of stability required for the sample or measurement workflow.

How to choose this CoreScan configuration

This complete CoreScan system includes the camera and lens equipment defined for its SKU in the master checklist. The R5 path is preferred when maximum resolution and archival detail are priorities; the R6 II path can be selected when smaller files, lighter processing, or lower configured price matter more.

The 3-axis version is the broader workflow path for more complete sample coverage, side or offset imaging, and modular petrographic work. It is the preferred CoreScan path when slide scanning in plain and polarized light may be needed.

CoreScan configuration, 3D rotation, and petrographic workflow

CoreScan systems can be configured around the rail length and automation axes actually needed for the lab. If the workflow is capped at a shorter core length, or if top-down linear imaging is enough, the configurator and quote review can reduce the system price by removing unnecessary rail length or third-axis hardware.

The examples below show two different CoreScan outputs: the interactive gneiss reconstruction and still model views come from the gneiss sample data, while the pegmatite source image set and panoramic render come from the core pegmatite data.

Interactive CoreScan example

Gneiss core 3D model viewer

Rotate and inspect the textured gneiss reconstruction produced from the CoreScan sample data. This is the 3D model associated with the gneiss examples; the pegmatite images below show a separate source image set and panoramic render.

This browser-ready GLB keeps the reconstructed gneiss model intact while using smaller mesh chunks for reliable rotation and inspection in Safari and other browsers.

Core rotation and 3D capture

Rotated-core image sets can be captured today by manually rotating the core sample between capture passes. A modular automated core rotator is planned for future CoreScan systems, allowing the same rotation workflow to be automated; the planned attachment should cost no more than $2,000.

Petrographic analysis and slide scanning

CoreScan can be reviewed as a modular petrographic platform when slide scanning, thin-section review, or polarized-light geology analysis is needed. Three-axis CoreScan systems are the preferred path for these workflows because they provide the additional movement needed for slide scanning in plain and polarized light.
