How does slide imaging differ from reflected-light specimen capture?

    Macroscopic Solutions Support answer
This staff-authored guidance is generalized. Project-specific and private details should be handled through direct support.

Thin sections require a transmitted-light stage with the appropriate objective, condenser or illumination geometry, and controlled exposure. Plain-polarized and cross-polarized records also need repeatable polarizer and analyzer positions. Capture paired views with consistent orientation, white balance, overlap, and scale so mosaics and comparisons remain traceable to the same slide location.
