    Staff-authored common question
This generalized question is based on recurring support conversations. It is not a customer quotation, and identifying details have been removed.

What capture pattern helps a turntable object reconstruct without the stationary background confusing the software?

    Macroscopic Solutions Support answer
This staff-authored guidance is generalized. Project-specific and private details should be handled through direct support.

Capture several height rings with substantial overlap and keep exposure, focus behavior, and scale consistent. A stationary textured background can compete with a rotating subject, so use a clean background and mask it when necessary. Include views of the top and lower surfaces that are otherwise hidden, but avoid changing the specimen shape or support relationship midway through a reconstruction set.
