As we move towards the second half of 2024, we at Macroscopic Solutions LLC extend our gratitude for your unwavering support, referrals, and partnership. Your trust in us has been appreciated as we continue seeing images being presented in scientific publications and museum installations.  As always, we promise our customers industry leading equipment, stunning imagery and continued innovation.

This year, we are more committed than ever to pushing the boundaries of macroscopic imaging technology.  We will be helping Spaceforce/USAFA image and 3D model Arabidopsis roots grown in space on the Polaris Dawn mission (https://polarisprogram.com/dawn/) later this year.  Twelve samples deployed on SpaceX’s Falcon 9 will be carried 700 km above the Earth and deployed into the vacuum of space by a team of Astronauts.  The samples will be frozen, imaged and modeled by Macroscopic Solutions and then rushed off for gene sequencing.

At Macroscopic Solutions, your tasks in imaging and photogrammetry are our priority. We are committed to providing you with cutting-edge tools and exceptional service to help you achieve your goals. Our team is always here to support you, whether you need technical assistance, product information, or expert advice.

Exciting last-minute news, Annette and I are expecting with a due date inside of 30 days!  Please bear with me as Macroscopic Solutions determines conferences to attend in 2024.  I will be at ESA in Phoenix in November.

Thank you for being a part of the Macroscopic Solutions family. We look forward to another year of innovation, collaboration, and discovery with you.

Warm regards,

OFFICIAL PARTNERSHIPS

Macroscopic Solutions has officially partnered with Mitutoyo and Agisoft.  The Micro Kit just became less expensive and more attainable resulting from a decade long partnership!

Client Reviews
“I highly recommend Macroscopic Solutions. They worked with me to develop a perfect solution for my macrophotography needs. The set-up is portable, easy to set up, and easy to use. More importantly to me, however, has been the outstanding service provided. They have been responsive to every query and have helped me develop a method and throughput that works perfect for me.” – Dr. Geoffrey Morse

I worked with Mark Smith at Macroscopic solutions this past summer to purchase and modify an imaging system that is portable and can take high quality photographs of very small wasps (0.5 -3 mm). The posted photograph illustrates the quality of images that I was able to produce and I am very pleased! Customer service is excellent: Mark responds to email inquiries with lightning speed, and is ever ready to help with customization and he puts feedback to good use. I have since purchased a second system for use with larger insects (0.5-5 cm) and am similarly pleased with the results.” – Dr. Elijah Talamas
POLARIS DAWN COLLABORATION

The United States Air Force Academy will conduct its first low-Earth orbit botanical space experiment on the Polaris Dawn mission. This investigation of microgravity, magnetic, and fungal influences on root growth will inform plant growth procedures for food viability and sustainability on the Moon or Mars. Additionally, this experiment will provide actionable physical and genetic data relative to plant growth to improve food production here on Earth.

Macroscopic Solutions has been contracted by USAFA to supply Macropod PRO imaging systems to efficiently and adequately 3D model root structures inside plastic cubic cuvettes.  Each sample will be scanned using the Macropod PRO 3D in 6 minutes across 3 systems in preparation for subsequent photogrammetry.

Mining and Soil Analysis:

In the mining sector, our advanced imaging systems will enhance the analysis of soil trays, providing clearer, more detailed images that support more accurate assessments and decision-making processes.

MIRRORLESS CAMERAS

We are excited to announce a significant advancement in our imaging solutions. From this point forward, Macroscopic Solutions will be integrating state-of-the-art mirrorless digital cameras into all our imaging systems. This decision reflects our commitment to providing you with the most advanced, reliable, and precise imaging technology available.

Why Mirrorless Digital Cameras?

Superior Image Quality:

Mirrorless cameras offer exceptional image resolution and clarity, ensuring that every detail is captured with remarkable precision. This is crucial for applications requiring high-definition imaging, such as documenting intricate insect specimens or analyzing complex soil textures.

Enhanced Speed and Performance:

The absence of a mirror mechanism allows for faster shooting speeds and reduced shutter lag. This means more efficient image capture, enabling you to complete your work more quickly and with greater accuracy.

Compact and Lightweight Design:

Mirrorless cameras are typically more compact and lightweight than traditional DSLR cameras, making our imaging systems more portable and easier to handle. This is particularly beneficial for fieldwork and on-site imaging.

Advanced Autofocus Capabilities:

The sophisticated autofocus systems in mirrorless cameras provide rapid and accurate focusing, even in challenging lighting conditions. This ensures sharp, clear images every time, enhancing the quality of your documentation and analysis.

Versatile and Future-Proof:

Mirrorless technology is rapidly advancing, offering a versatile platform that can easily incorporate future innovations. This ensures that our imaging systems prvide you with long-term value and performance.
